This is authentic southern BBQ, buffet. All you can eat. All your normal favorites. Real local feel. Zach really liked the Mac-n-cheese. 4 desserts but what do you need other than banana pudding ... Well Oreo pudding was good as well. They kept the food full and hot. Friendly service. Nothing not to like (except that Siri didn't exactly get is here, one road too many but not hard to find.

Great food. We didn't realize it was a buffet before we got there but stayed and ate too much.

Moncks Corner has several BBQ joints and Music Man is worth the drive if you are doing a survey of low country BBQ. It's all you can eat buffet for $10.50. Pulled pork with mustard and pepper-vinegar choices. Excellent smoked chicken. Old school mac and cheese is always on the buffet as well as rice and hash, slaw and desserts. Solid and dependable quality.

We had the lunch buffet on a Friday. It was really good. The fried chicken (served on Friday and Sunday only), was worth the drive from Hanahan all by itself. The pulled pork was very good as well, especially if you like mustard based bbq sauce. The mac and cheese was very yummy, and the banana pudding was out of this world!

Best BBQ around. Good service and friendly people. The pulled pork is very good as well as the mustard sauce! The mac n cheese is the best I've had at a restaurant and the hash is delicious.

I did not like it! The BBQ sauce was nasty! The food reminded me of the schools cafeteria!

I am a bbq snob. I am known to travel far distances just for a hole-in-the-wall bbq spot. Now, for me, the secret to good bbq is the quality of the meat, the flavor of the meat, and the sauce. For me, Music Man BBQ exceeds all three of these. Their style is pulled using only the highest quality parts (so many places' "chopped" style throw all parts in and chop it up and serve it to you full of gristle and fatty parts). The flavor of the meat is extremely flavorful and the sauce only compliments this flavor. Now, they offer two sauces: a mustard base and a vinegar base. GET THE VINEGAR!! it is by far, THE BEST bbq sauce I have tried in my twenty-something life. The vinegar sauce is truly amazing!! The desserts are very good; try both: the banana pudding and orea pudding. The atmosphere is simple: very casual, family oriented, small town home feel. The order style is buffet but there is a menu too. It is a family owned business started by a Moncks Corner resident who is in a band (Customs 4 & Friends), hence the name "Music Man BBQ." Located inconveniently in the town of Moncks Corner but definitely worth the drive!!

This place is the bomb. We stopped here on a whim. Best meal I had in the Carolinas. The mustard BBQ sauce is out if this world. Can they bottle it? Pulled pork is phenomenal. Limited hours do check before coming. You won't be disappointed.

Yep, still #1 in the area in my book. Very consistent service, quality of food, and it's only $7.95 for all you can eat and drink. Very surprised I'm the only person to review this place thus far. Oh well, maybe someone else will give it a shot one day. Until then, it's more for me!!!!!

Everybody was so friendly and cheery at Music Man's that I wanted to like their food. Too bad it didn't work out. I hate giving low scores to locally owned and well-liked spots, but the bbq we ordered here during a weekend lunch was abysmal. We ordered a pound of pulled pork with mustard and we were shocked at how dry and flavorless it was despite the auto-add of mustard. It looked and tasted like leftover meat somebody had pounded into tuna salad (why anybody would treat meat this way, I don't know). We also ordered a pound of ribs; what we got was a gray brown rack of meat that had no bark and--surprise--also no flavor. The meat may have been tender but we couldn't detect that it had spent any time on a grill or near a smoker. Both meats needed a heavy application of the very thin vinegary and mustard based bbq sauces that came with our order--sadly, they still could not rescue it. We had higher hopes for their sides: the pink-tinged potato salad dusted with paprika was as bland and forgettable as the poor excuse for mac and cheese which looked like old pasta that somebody had half-heartedly tried to melt grated cheddar over. The bread pudding was the worst rendition I had ever tried; again so unpalatable and the mushy texture so offputting that I wished I hadn't ordered it. The overall theme of the meal we had at Music Man's seemed to be bland and unappetizing. I'm not sure if this is a direct result of the mass-produced buffet style of service that most bbq joints in Moncks Corner seems to serve up--since there are other local places that serve up better fare. This was the first time I had to throw away food without optioning it to the pups, and the first time bbq made me somewhat regret my carnivorous ways.

I am a huge fan of South Carolina barbecue and Music Man does it right! It is all buffet, with hot and cold bars. The 'cue is pulled pork (two styles - vinegar and mustard sauced), chicken pieces, and ribs. The pulled pork sauces both have nice flavor, with the vinegar having just a little more kick! The buffet "side" choices are awesome - green beans, mac 'n' cheese, okra and peppers, rice, hash, potato salad, coleslaw, and sweet yams - to name the mainstays. For dessert, they have chocolate and banana puddings, as well as a wonderful hot bread pudding! The sweet tea is as good as it comes, and the servers keep your glass constantly filled. I have lots of favorite BBQ joints in SC, and Music Man BBQ is definitely one of them! Oh yeah, they do have a Steak Night on every 2nd Wednesday of the month. And they are open on Sundays from 11 AM to 2 PM!!! BBQ Brunch anyone???

Should be called music man's buffet. Their website eludes to them selling BBQ however they have a buffet. Ribs are only sold on Saturday nights. Friday is fried chicken. There is also what appears to be baked chicken certainly not BBQ. They have pulled pork in big trays. "Slow cooked whole hog...plus best catfish stew?" They had neither. If you want to eat a ton of the same food it's the place for you. If you actually want BBQ keep looking. 12/26/14 - since I posted this review I have been getting very odd "compliments" all of which I have declined. Anymore and I'm going to start posting them on this review.....grow up.

Absolutely the BEST BAR B QUE in SOUTH CAROLINA. Moncks Corner doesn't have many Restaurants, but they don't really need any since they have MUSIC MAN. All good, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Chicken, and on Friday's, the BEST FRIED CHICKEN you've ever had. Worth the drive, I don't cate where you live !

I really like South Carolina style barbecue, and The Music Man in Monck's Corner, about 40 minutes from Charleston, does it up right. While there are only a handful of reviews for this place on line, they're all fairly glowing with praise. I even read one that compares this place in quality to Sweatman's, a comparison I can neither refute nor second, as we made the pilgrimage there last night only to find them closed for the Thanksgiving weekend. Drats. Anyway, we drove over to The Music Man in the charming village of Monck's Corner for lunch today and enjoyed some very good barbecue. Barbecue in the Carolinas means chopped pork. Often places will use just the shoulder, but they smoke the whole hog here...just the way God intended, according to their website. We are definitely for the whole hog approach to barbecue, as it produces incomparable juiciness and flavor. The Music Man is a buffet (they seem to really like their buffets in SC), and you get some wonderful sides with your meal here. Today the choices were lima beans, okra with stewed tomatoes, candied yams, mac and cheese, creamy coleslaw and potato salad. The mac and cheese and candied yams were off the hook, and we both liked the slaw. They offer chopped pork done in two sauces, vinegar and the traditional South Carolina mustard barbecue sauce, plus broiled chicken, ribs and cracklins. I fully expected to like the mustard sauce, but took some of the vinegar sauced pork too, and this was great. You can top your 'cue with more sauce at the end of the line, and I really like this vinegar sauce. There was something about it that made me want more...just delicious. The ribs were tender enough, but we weren't bowled over by them. We wouldn't go back for them, but we liked the chopped pork and the sides enough to return. To finish your meal, do not overlook the bread pudding. It rocks. They put raisins and apples in it, and it has a wonderful brown sugar flavor. Yum.

We're big fans of the South Carolina barbecue buffet and this one is right up there with Duke's in Walterboro for me. The barbecue is pretty good, they use the whole hog. The pork is divided in two pans, one with vinegar and one with mustard. I liked them both but the vinegar stole the show. It was a little spicy and had a little mustard and other spices as well. The sides were terrific. I had yams, mac and cheese, slaw, hash and all were really good. For desert, you just can't pass on the bread pudding. Apples and raisins aren't traditional and there isn't a hard sauce but this version is going to leave a smile on your face. All this for $10/ person. Don't pass up a chance to eat here while in the Charleston area.

Best BBQ in Berkeley County! Music Man offers an all you can eat buffet with straight home cooking: BBQ ribs, string beans, chicken, pulled pork, rice, hash. Very laid back atmosphere with super friendly service.

It's a bit far from where I live in Goose Creek, yet once in a while I get cravings for good ol' country style food... it's a low price and buffet style with dessert. But note this: It's cash only! [edit: It's no longer cash only!]

It as a trek from Charleston, where I once lived, but the journey was well worth it. I think the quality of the sweatman's ribs were better, but the variety and quality of the sides at sweatman's is no comparable. For 7.95/person you get all you can eat ribs, pulled pork, chicken, a large variety of sides AND sweet tea. I think that week rice, has, pasta, sweet potatoes, collard greens, etc. It really is home cooked goodness.

Great BBQ pulled pork., chicken and ribs. All of their food is great. The service is excellent. They offer steak night once a month on the second Wed. of each month. The steaks are great and the live music is even better. You cannot go wrong eating here.
